More than 15,000 comedy fans are set to arrive in the city during the October Bank Holiday weekend to attend the Vodafone Comedy Carnival Galway, an event which is expected to boost the local economy by at least €5 million.

Among the many top-notch comedians winging their way to Galway for next month’s Vodafone Comedy Carnival is Dave Johns, a seasoned veteran of the British and international circuit and, more recently, acclaimed star of Ken Loach’s I, Daniel Blake.

The full line-up for the Vodafone Comedy Carnival 2017 has been revealed.

ANDREW MAXWELL, “one of the most significant comedians working in the country today", according to The Independent, returns to Galway to perform his latest show, Yo Contraire, at the Róisín Dubh.
